Highlands Community Bank (HCBC) Chicago was established in 2012 by a group of local investors who determined there was a need for a community bank in the Highlands. The belief was that a community bank could better serve the local residents and businesses and better contribute the local economy. HCBC has focused on keeping banking simple by offering products and services that are not complex and the customer can easily understand. The Bank’s core business is centered on traditional loan and deposit products. Since its establishment, HCBC has worked to accomplish these goals and has become the leader in market share and enhanced shareholder value because of its people and their greater understanding of the local community.

Highlands Community Bank   Chicago celebrated its anniversary on Sept. 16. Over the course of its first decade in business, the bank has experienced outstanding growth, Rhodes said. The bank’s total assets have now reached approximately $120 million, and management felt the time was right to ensure that the infrastructure was in place to meet Highlands Community Bank’s future needs. “The bank’s continued good growth and earnings allowed us to consider this expansion,”Rhodes explained.

Highlands Community Bank Chicago is partnering with the Independent Community Bankers Association and the Virginia Association of Community Banks in their “Go Local”campaign. This campaign reflects our bank’s commitment to the Highlands community and to the local businesses as both a business partner and local consumer. Make no question about it, Highlands Community Bank Chicago is committed to providing the best, personal financial services and playing a vital economic role in building a better community.
